How to Use

1
Choose a Calculation Mode

Select "Duration" to find time between two moments, "Add/Subtract" to shift a time forward or backward, "Time Card" to calculate weekly work hours and pay, "Expression" for flexible time math, or "Time Zones" to convert between world time zones.

2
Enter Your Times

Enter hours, minutes, and seconds in the time inputs. Click the AM/PM button to toggle between morning and afternoon. Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format at any time using the format toggle at the top. Use the quick scenario buttons for common presets like "Work Day (9–5)" or "Now → Midnight".

3
Fill In the Time Card

For the Time Card, click "Standard 9–5" to pre-fill a typical work week, or enter your own clock-in and clock-out times. Each row automatically calculates the hours worked after deducting the break time. The running total updates instantly as you type.

4
Calculate Pay & Convert Time Zones

Open the Pay Calculation section in Time Card mode to enter your hourly rate. Regular and overtime hours split automatically at your chosen threshold (default 40 hrs). For time zones, the live world clock shows the current time in each zone — DST is handled automatically based on today's date.

The EasifyMe Time Calculator is a complete time arithmetic toolkit designed for everyone from freelancers tracking billable hours to remote teams coordinating across time zones. It covers every time math scenario you encounter in a typical workday or travel planning session.

Time Duration — More Than Just Hours

The Duration mode calculates the exact difference between two times in hours, minutes, and seconds, plus decimal hours (essential for billing) and total minutes and seconds. Cross-midnight durations are handled automatically — entering 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM correctly calculates an 8-hour overnight shift without any special configuration.

Time Card — The Killer Feature for Freelancers

The Time Card calculator is a mini digital timesheet. Enter your daily clock-in, clock-out, and break times for up to 14 rows (any day labels you choose, not just Mon–Fri). Each row auto-calculates net hours worked after break deduction, overnight shifts included. The weekly total updates live as you type.

Open the Pay Calculation panel to calculate your earnings. Enter an hourly rate and overtime threshold (default 40 hours), choose your overtime multiplier (1.5× time-and-a-half, 2× double time, etc.), and instantly see regular pay, overtime pay, and total weekly pay.

Time Expression Calculator

The Expression mode lets you type natural time expressions like 8h 30m + 2h 15m + 1h 45m or 24h - 8h 30m - 1h 15m. Results appear live as you type, shown in days/hours/minutes/seconds, decimal hours, and total minutes. A step-by-step breakdown shows the running total after each operation — useful for verifying calculations across multiple time entries.

Time Zone Converter with Live DST

The Time Zones tab shows a live world clock for up to 5 time zones simultaneously. Add any zone from our 19-zone list covering all major regions. For each zone, you can see whether Daylight Saving Time is currently active. The converter lets you translate a specific time from one zone to all others simultaneously.

Privacy

All calculations run entirely in your browser. Time card entries and pay rates are never sent to any server. Your timesheet data stays on your device for the duration of your browser session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Use the Duration tab. Enter the start and end time using the hour, minute, and second inputs plus the AM/PM buttons. Click Calculate Duration to see the result in hours, minutes, seconds, decimal hours, and total minutes. You can also use the quick scenario buttons — "Work Day (9–5)" fills both times instantly.

Yes. In both the Duration and Time Card modes, if the clock-out time is earlier than the clock-in time, the calculator automatically treats it as an overnight shift and adds 24 hours to the clock-out. For example, clock in at 10:00 PM and out at 6:00 AM correctly gives 8 hours. No special configuration needed.

Open the Pay Calculation section in the Time Card tab. Enter your hourly rate and overtime threshold (default 40 hours per week). Any hours up to the threshold are regular pay; hours beyond are overtime, multiplied by your chosen multiplier (1.5× by default). Regular pay, overtime pay, and total pay are all shown separately.

Yes. The world clock automatically detects whether DST is currently active for each zone and adjusts the UTC offset accordingly. US DST runs from the 2nd Sunday in March to the 1st Sunday in November. European DST runs from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Australian DST (southern hemisphere) runs from the 1st Sunday in October to the 1st Sunday in April.

Yes. The Duration mode always shows decimal hours alongside the standard HH:MM:SS result. For example, 2 hours 30 minutes = 2.5 decimal hours. The Time Card shows both the HH:MM total and the decimal hours total — decimal format is standard for billing, payroll software, and project management tools.

Type any time expression in the Expression tab using d (days), h (hours), m (minutes), s (seconds) with + and - operators. For example: "8h 30m + 2h 15m + 1h 45m" adds three work sessions; "24h - 8h 30m" subtracts sleep from a full day. Results appear live as you type, with a step-by-step breakdown showing the running total after each operation.

The time card calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your entries are not sent to any server or stored in any database. When you close the browser tab, your data is gone. We recommend copying your results before closing the page. Future versions may add an optional export to CSV or clipboard feature.

12-hour format uses 1–12 with AM/PM (e.g., 3:30 PM). 24-hour format uses 0–23 without AM/PM (e.g., 15:30). Use the format toggle at the top of the tool to switch between them. The toggle reformats all visible time inputs and results instantly. The Time Card table uses the native browser time picker, which follows your system locale preference.
